Donator: European Union
Duration: 01.02.2024 - 31.01.2027
Amount: 667.035 EUR
Overall Objective
The overall objective of the project is to encourage the participation of civil society organizations (CSOs) in decision-making processes, with a particular focus on the necessary reform processes for EU accession.
Specific Objectives
- To develop the capacities of CSOs, including local organizations and informal groups, to become sustainable, recognized, and influential actors in reform processes. The project will provide a range of services, resources, information, training, and mentoring support to local CSOs. This support will strengthen their capacities and sustainability, positioning them as influential actors within their respective fields of work.
- To support CSOs in participating in reform processes by involving them in consultation mechanisms, advocating for the adoption of key legislation, and monitoring progress in areas relevant to EU integration. The project will provide baseline analyses, roadmaps, and monitoring reports that will serve as inputs for advocating specific measures in areas of vital importance for EU integration, with a focus on Clusters I, II, and III. The Resource Center for CSOs in BiH project will also support CSOs and/or their networks in advocacy efforts and participation in working groups of relevant institutions.
- To improve the environment for civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on transparency, objectivity, and impartiality in public funding of CSOs. The project will advocate for improvements in the operating environment for CSOs, focusing on public funding at higher levels of government (state, entity, and cantonal levels). Furthermore, it will address at least one additional issue relevant to the functioning of civil society, such as improving and updating the registry of active CSOs or developing a strategy for creating an enabling environment for the development of civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
